Then you take the shot, glass and all, and drop it into a glass of beer. The non-flaming version is similar to a boiler maker in that you drop the shot glass with the liquor into a beer and it bubbles up.
Make a gift basket with the liquor and beer they need, along with a measuring shot glass and a ”This guy is awesome” pint glass. The idea is to drink it down before it bubbles over and makes a mess. The drink tastes like Dr. Pepper, although there is no actual Dr. Pepper in it.
If this seems too complicated, you can give them the shot glass, pint glass, and some original Dr. Pepper. Then they can add their favorite liquor for an adult beverage. My favorite is adding bourbon or rum.
