My neighbor, Brandon, is a UPS driver. Like most drivers he spends a majority of his day in his vehicle, getting out only to deliver packages, in all kinds of weather. I spoke with his wife, Kim, to find out what some of the best gifts he has gotten from customers are. I also asked about great job related gifts others have given him. Don’t be like the guy who gave him nose hair trimmers. Unless you have some inside joke going on with your delivery guy, you don’t want to be too personal. Take my advice for these gifts for UPS drivers, and give them something they will appreciate.
It provides a record of their speed and route. So there will be no issues with the boss over their time management.
Get them a music subscription so they can listen to their favorite tunes during long hours in their vehicle.
This provides a surface for filling out paperwork and doubles as a table to eat on while stopped for lunch.
1. Treat Basket
Thank you gifts for delivery drivers
Show your appreciation to those hard working delivery drivers. Make a treat basket. You can get one of these signs to place on a bucket or basket you already have. Then add some snacks and bottled water.
If you don’t already have a basket or bucket you can buy one. Then on days you are expecting a delivery, just set it outside for the drivers to choose a snack from. We have so many deliveries from UPS, Fex-Ex, USPS, and Amazon, that I am going to try this idea myself.
If you have one special driver you want to thank, you can get a snack basket already made up, just for them.
Another way to show appreciation is by placing a thank you sign on your lawn.
2. Sound System
Home theater gifts
Maybe they aspire to be a couch potato on their days off. After lugging heavy packages, being chased by dogs and exposed to heat and cold, they deserve a day to veg out in front of the TV. If that’s the case, help make those movies and shows come to life with the ultimate sound system.
All they need now is some popcorn to feel like they are at the movies. Give them a popcorn tin so they don’t even have to make it themselves.
Better yet, give them a couch console to hold their drink and snacks so they are never out of reach. The extra cool part about this is that it can be used in the car or truck as well. It will make eating lunch during the work week more convenient.
3. Meta Quest 2
Gifts for UPS drivers that will bring out the kid in them
Video games are not just for kids. Many adults indulge their playful side by engaging in this exciting pastime. Why not get the latest technology, and enter them into a virtual world that will take them far away from those well traveled routes.
4. UPS Driver Holiday Ornament
Christmas gifts for UPS drivers
What should you get a UPS driver for Christmas? A themed holiday ornament with your name and date on it. This way, they can remember how much they are appreciated each year when they decorate their tree. This makes a great leaving gift for UPS drivers too.
For their days off, give them a quirky UPS driver mug with some gourmet coffee.
If you are looking for funny gifts for UPS drivers, you can give them a rude road rage coloring book. Add some coloring implements such as colored pencils.
5. Meat Grinder
Manly gifts for UPS drivers
For people who spend all day on the road, days off at home can be a real treat. With a meat grinder they can get delicious gourmet burgers without leaving the house.
Add a burger maker to help shape their delicacies.
While grilling outdoors is a favorite summer activity, an indoor grill is a lifesaver when the last thing they want to do on their day off is be exposed to the elements.
6. Hammock
Relaxing gifts for UPS driver’s day off
After driving around all week, a UPS driver is most likely looking to enjoy some R & R right in their own backyard. And what can be more relaxing than a hammock? Get a free standing one so it won’t matter if they have any trees or not.
Even better, give them a beer table cooler. No matter where their favorite spot is, a refreshing brew will never be out of reach.
That’s great in the summer, but what about when the weather turns cold? No problem. A fire pit will have them feeling like they are on vacation, without ever leaving their home sweet home.
7. Heated Gloves
Cold weather gifts for Delivery Drivers
UPS drivers, as well as drivers from USPS, are often exposed to extreme temperatures when driving. It is important to keep their hands warm when the temperatures dip so they retain firm control over the steering wheel. Rechargeable gloves can keep their hands warm for hours.
Thermal Socks will help keep their feet warm in icy temperatures as well. You don’t want their feet getting numb and having them think they are hitting the break when really it’s the gas!
An emergency thermal blanket is useful in case their truck breaks down. They might have to wait a while until help arrives.
8. Vehicle Food Warmer
Holiday gifts for UPS drivers
During winter they won’t be stuck with cold sandwiches or need to stop for fast food in order to eat a hot meal. With a portable food warmer they can heat up healthy homemade food by plugging the warmer into the lighter port in their truck.
For warmer months, a travel cooler will be useful for keeping food and drinks cold throughout their shift.
They will also need a trash can with a lid to get rid of scraps after eating. They can empty it at the end of the day or when they stop for gas.
9. Amazon Music Subscription
Good gifts for UPS drivers
Even when the radio stations come in clearly, who wants to listen to that endless talk and advertising? Get them a music subscription so they can listen to their favorite tunes during long hours in their vehicle.
If they prefer to listen to podcasts or the latest best sellers, they may prefer an Audible membership. Then they can use all that road time to their advantage.
With all these gadgets, they will need a portable charger. Then they won’t have to have their phone and food warmer vying for the lighter port.
10. Dashboard Fan
UPS driver gifts for hot weather
Doors on UPS trucks and USPS trucks are often open to the weather. A fan that mounts to the dashboard or another part of the vehicle can help prevent heat exhaustion when temperatures rise.
A cooling towel can be placed on their neck to help keep them cool.
Keeping busy making deliveries can make them forget to stay hydrated. A smart water bottle will remind them to take some sips at regular intervals. Some glow as a reminder, and others play music!
11. Seat Cushion
Gift ideas for UPS drivers
All of that time sitting can put strain on the back, legs, and neck. A seat cushion for vehicles will add support and reduce strain.
Lifting heavy packages can also lead to strains. Give them a neck massager with a heat function to ease sore muscles and pinched nerves.
Polarized sunglasses will help protect their eyes from the sun’s dangerous glare while driving.
12. Steering Wheel Desk
Best gifts for UPS drivers
This provides a surface for filling out paperwork and doubles as a table to eat on while stopped for lunch.
A front seat organizer will keep small packages, paperwork, and anything else they need within reach.
Another handy gift is a phone mount. This way they can easily use their phone to locate hard to find places, make calls, or listen to music.
13. Dashboard Camera
Useful gift ideas for delivery drivers
A dashboard camera provides a record of the driver’s speed and route. This way there will be no issues with the boss over their time management.
If their truck doesn’t have built-in GPS, give them a GPS navigation. Then they will be alerted to slow downs and find alternative routes before they get stuck in traffic. After all, time is money.
Don’t you hate it when you drop something important between the seats? A magnetic light tool will help them locate items in dark spaces as well as retrieve metal objects.
Of course, since they practically live in their vehicles, an air freshener will be needed. You don’t want yesterday’s leftover fish stinking up the truck!
Discussion
I recommend the dashcam. It's a necessity for all drivers nowadays. Radar detection models are great. I like the Mio brand. B.
What drivers need most of all is some activity! They spend so much time sitting. Give them dance classes ;)
A dash cam is a great idea. I can't tell you how many times someone has scratched my work car!
Good inspiration, thanks. More articles like this. :)
A Dashboard Fan is good gift idea.
For this Christmas, I decided to surprise my husband, who is a UPS driver, with a custom bobblehead dressed in his UPS uniform. I ordered it from www.Bbobbler.com, and he absolutely loved it!
