I remember summer vacations hanging out with my cousin Colleen and her sisters in a little upstate New York town. We would be allowed out at night because her older sisters would keep an eye on us. At the bottom of the hill was the game room where all the local teens hung out. Here we would spend hours playing air hockey, pinball, and of course, Pac Man.
While being a teen has its ups and downs in any decade, those summers were a time of freedom during the 80’s. They were times on the border between being a kid and not yet having the responsibility of a job. Pac Man reminds me of that nostalgic time. Whatever decade they grew up in, I hope giving these Pac Man gifts will inspire the receiver to reminisce about a simpler time in their life.
Get a full size arcade game for him. He will think he died and went to Heaven.
Maybe you know somebody who likes to stand out in a crowd, or someone who works in the gaming industry.
If they like Pac Man, they probably like other 80’s fads. Remember Rubik’s cube?
1. Retro Arcade Game
Luxury Pac Man gifts
You can take the man out of the arcade, but you can’t take the arcade out of the man. Create a game room at home to bring out the kid in him. Get a full size arcade game for his man cave. He will think he died and went to Heaven.
You can also get other classic 80’s cocktail table arcade games.
For more old fashioned arcade fun, get them a real pinball machine. I used to love playing pinball. My dad would take me to his office sometimes on Saturdays. Then we would stop by his friend’s bar for lunch on the way home. The bartender always gave me a bunch of quarters for the pinball machine.
2. Retro Bath Set
Pacman gifts for the bathroom
Fans will love this old school shower set. It looks just like the classic arcade game and comes with a shower curtain, bath mat, toilet mat, and seat cover so you don’t have to search around trying to find matching pieces.
Soap on a Rope shaped like this little yellow critter will chomp away dirt while showering.
This is also a great gift for the Pac-man fan who has everything.
And make sure to keep the medicine cabinet stocked with ghost lip balm. It comes in cherry flavor, of course. This makes a great stocking stuffer too!
3. Mini Arcade Games
Best Pac Man gifts
If full size arcade games are out of your price range, no problem. You can still give the fun of chomping fruit and escaping ghosts with a mini handheld game.
You can also get Pac Man neon signs to decorate their game room. I think I will get one for my garage, even though we only have a dartboard.
Of course, what good is an arcade game without a game stool to sit on. Even these have Pac Man designs.
4. Ghost Salt & Pepper
Pac-man gifts for the kitchen
Bring Pinky and Inky to liven up the kitchen. Just don’t leave any fruit around!
Chefs will love attiring themselves with a kitchen apron filled with colorful fruits and ghosts. For Pac-man fans who do their cooking outdoors, this apron will be a great way to protect clothes from grill grease. Plus the dark color won’t show stains so they can wipe their hands on it in a pinch!
5. Pac Man Mug
Gift ideas for Pac Man fans
Give them a retro mug to drink their morning coffee from.
For later in the day, keep them hydrated with a themed water bottle. Some of these designs look so real I can almost hear that chomp, chomp, chomp of Pac Man eating the dots!
Then for after work, get them some retro glassware for beer or mixed drinks.
6. Eccentric Pac Man Suit
Pac Man novelty gifts
I thought these were wild, but who knows? Maybe you know somebody who likes to stand out in a crowd, or someone who works in the gaming industry.
For Christmas, you can get a bunch of Pac Man ornaments to decorate their tree.
For kids, you can get a coin bank with one of the crazy ghosts or the yellow guy himself. Teach them to save money at a young age with these colorful characters. While they can’t use the money at the arcade, they can still save coins to exchange for cash or save in the bank. My son’s grandparents saved their change each year to give him during the summer. After a year of saving, that change added up to over $100!
For the chef, get some novelty cookie cutters. Or get them for yourself to make a batch of tasty treats to give to a Pac Man fan.
7. Cute Planters
Whimsical gift for Pac-man fans
For those who enjoy plants, choose from a variety of mini planters perfect for holding succulents. Succulents are easy to care for so don’t worry if your Pac-man fan doesn’t actually have a green thumb. Plus plants improve air quality and these little guys don’t take up much space indoors or out.
8. Pac-Man Energy Drink
Pac-man gifts with a boost
Everyone knows sometimes Pac-man needs a boost. Instead of those magic pellets in the corners of the maze, give your Pac-man fan a retro style energy drink. This 12 pack comes in cherry lollipop flavor.
Or surprise them with a two pack in a random flavor of blue raspberry or strawberry.
For even more of a sugar high, give them some pac-man candy. It’s packaged to look like the retro arcade game.
9. Pac Man Board Games
Fun Pac Man gift ideas
Have a good old fashioned family game night with the Pac Man board game, card game, or the Pac man version of Monopoly. Pop some popcorn, listen to some hair bands, and have a wholesome night of fun.
For more 1980’s excitement, get them some 80’s trivia games. I actually have 80’s Scene It. My husband and I have played it in party mode with friends and neighbors, just to see who can yell out the answers fastest. Even my kids like playing, even though they weren’t around during that time.
For fun for the younger ones, Pac Man building blocks will improve spatial reasoning, while they enjoy building the characters.
10. Pac Man Rug
Cool Pac Man presents
They will feel like they took a trip in a time machine with this retro decor. I might want to add one of these rugs to my game room as well.
Add some mood lighting with a Pac Man light.
Then give them some unique Pac Man canvas wall art and some vintage game coasters so guests don’t leave rings on the furniture from their drinks.
11. Pac Man Plush Set
Cuddly Pac Man gifts
Little kids will love these collections of plushies to snuggle with.
Or get them a soft plush pillow for their bed. Throw pillows are great to take along on car rides in case they fall asleep. You can even add a throw blanket to keep them warm.
12. Pac Man Earrings
Pac Man gifts
Choose a cute pair of ghosts or Pac Man himself, in either studs or wires to decorate their ears. Or perhaps they would prefer a Pac Man bracelet or necklace.
13. Cube Puzzles
Other retro gift ideas for Pac Man fans
If they like Pac Man, they probably like other 80’s fads. Remember Rubik’s cube? My friend Nicole and I used to have races to see who could complete them the fastest. Other kids would bring theirs to school for us to solve. I ended up getting a whole bunch of different puzzles one Christmas. My whole family sat around trying these puzzles instead of talking to each other!
Jelly bracelets were really popular during the 80’s too. Girls would wear a ton of these on both arms while trying to emulate Madonna with lace gloves and a net hair band.
Remember people trying to buy their kids Cabbage Patch Dolls from some guy’s trunk because none were available? What were they thinking?
If they still listen to hair bands, get them a classic cassette tape puzzle to do while listening to some tunes. At least now they don’t have to worry about the tape coming apart and getting stuck in the player.
14. Pac Man Tie
Wearable Pac Man gifts
This tie definitely makes a statement. But for more casual wear, you can get them Pac Man T-shirts and socks.
Yoga leggings will make her stand out at the gym. Hopefully they will give her the speed and agility for her work out, as if she were trying to keep away from the ghosts!
15. Masks
Accessory Pac Man gifts
I think masks are here to stay, at least during the winter flu season. Let them show off their Pac Man fandom with one of these themed masks.
Are you looking for a Pac Man keychain? Lanyards and key fobs make great stocking stuffers and can hold keys or be used for an ID badge.
Get her some cute hair bows to decorate her hair. Hopefully, she is going with a more natural style, not one of those crazy 80’s perms.
Then choose from a whole selection of cool retro cassette wallets to keep money and cards in.
